Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Analytical Solutions for One-Dimensional Water Flow Driven by Immiscible Fluid in Porous Medium

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In fields such as rock and soil grouting and petroleum extraction, the flow of water driven by an immiscible fluid (or vice versa) within a porous medium is frequently encountered.

Improving the Accuracy of Fictitious Domain Method Using Indicator Function from Volume Intersection

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2019
Fictitious domain method (FDM) is a commonly accepted direct numerical simulation technique for moving boundary problems. Indicator function used to distinguish the solid zone and the fluid zone is an essential part concerning the whole prediction ...

Recent insights into the molecular mechanism of ubiquinol oxidation by cytochrome bc1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The review reflects on the mechanism of the catalytic reaction in cytochrome bc1: the electron bifurcation that involves the separation of two electrons derived from the quinol oxidation to opposite sides of the enzyme across the membrane. This review summarizes the long‐standing effort to understand the mechanism of quinol oxidation catalyzed by ...

Moving boundary problems governed by anomalous diffusion [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2012
Anomalous diffusion can be characterized by a mean-squared displacement 〈 x 2 ( t )〉 that is proportional to t α where

Self‐Regulated Learning Meets AI: Reinterpreting Self‐Regulation, Co‐Regulation, and Socially Shared Regulation in Human–AI Interaction

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed learning and work, yet higher education and professional development programs have not systematically equipped learners for AI‐prevalent environments. This lack of preparation creates uncertainty regarding control, responsibility, trust, and accountability.

Analysis of a multiphase free boundary problem [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica
In this paper, we investigate a free boundary problem relevant in several applications, such as tumor growth models. Our problem is expressed as an elliptic equation involving discontinuous nonlinearities in a specified domain with a moving boundary.

Ethical Foreground and Background in Adult Educator Work

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adult educators work in a complex ethical environment. The very act of contributing to the learning of another is fraught with moral overtones. In this paper we consider the ethical dimensions of adult educator practice by distinguishing the ethical features of the context or ‘background’ of practice from the ethical capabilities and decision ...

Numerical Study of Longitudinal-Transverse Vibrations of Objects with Moving Boundaries in the Developed Software Package TB-Analisys

open access: yesСовременные информационные технологии и IT-образование, 2022
Difference numerical schemes for solutions of problems describing the longitudinal-cross oscillations of object with moving boundaries are noted. The scheme allows us to solve the Cauchy problem for a system of nonlinear differential equations with ...

Positive solutions of a boundary value problem with integral boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider boundary-value problems studied in a recent paper. We show that some existing theory developed by Webb and Infante applies to this problem and we use the known theory to show how to find improved estimates on parameters μ*, λ so ...
