A comparison of moving object detection methods for real-time moving object detection

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
Moving object detection has a wide variety of applications from traffic monitoring, site monitoring, automatic theft identification, face detection to military surveillance. Many methods have been developed across the globe for moving object detection, but it is very difficult to find one which can work globally in all situations and with different ...

Research on moving object detection and tracking

2010 Seventh International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2010
To detect and track objects, some approaches of detecting and tracking moving objects in stationary scene are presented, including the detection methods of the time domain differential method, the background differential method, optical flow method and tracking methods of the Kalman filter and feature optical flow.

Detection and Segmentation of Moving Objects in Video

2006 Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2006
This paper proposes to define moving objects in video scene in terms of MPEG like motion vectors. Local Areas in a video scene where large magnitude of motion vectors is detected are regarded to contain a moving object(s). Macro blocks indicating a large motion vector are segmented from the frame of video image.

Moving Object Detection in Noisy Images

2019 8th Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing (MECO), 2019
The new method for detecting moving objects in an image distorted by white Gaussian noise is proposed. The method is based on the representation of the video sequence by a three-dimensional discrete Markov process and includes two stages. The first step is a three-dimensional nonlinear filtering of images which allows keeping the contours of objects ...

Moving objects detection by block comparison

ICECS 2000. 7th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.00EX445), 2002
Motion segmentation has been an important issue in computer vision. It is fundamental in motion understanding. Moving objects can be traced only after they are detected in the video sequence using motion segmentation methods. In this paper a new method is proposed to segment moving objects from the sequence.
