The detection of moving objects by moving observers

open access: yesVision Research, 2010
When an observer moves through the world, he or she must detect moving objects in order to avoid or intercept them. Accomplishing this task presents a problem for the visual system, because the motion of the observer causes the images of nearly all objects in the scene to move across the retina.

Moving Shadow Detection in Video Using Cepstrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Moving shadows constitute problems in various applications such as image segmentation and object tracking. The main cause of these problems is the misclassification of the shadow pixels as target pixels.

Optimum Model for Tracking of Moving Objects

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2023
In wireless communication, it is a challenge to find the accurate position of moving objects. The presented work proposes the GPS receiver to measure the position and velocity of moving objects.

Moving Object Counting Using a Tripwire in H.265/HEVC Bitstreams for Video Surveillance

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2016
The objective of this paper is to estimate the number of moving objects that passes through a specific area without fully decoding the H.265/high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) bitstreams.

RGB‐D SLAM with moving object tracking in dynamic environments

open access: yesIET Cyber-systems and Robotics, 2021
Simultaneous localization and mapping methods are fundamental to many robotic applications. In dynamic environments, SLAM methods focus on eliminating the influence of moving objects to construct a static map since they assume a static world.

Direction-Aware Continuous Moving K-Nearest-Neighbor Query in Road Networks

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2019
Continuous K-nearest neighbor (CKNN) queries on moving objects retrieve the K-nearest neighbors of all points along a query trajectory. They mainly deal with the moving objects that are nearest to the moving user within a specified period of time.
