Abstract The idealized “normal” menstrual cycle typically comprises a coordinated ebb and flow of hormones over a 28‐day span with ovulation invariably shown at the midpoint. It's a pretty picture—but rare. Systematic studies have debunked the myth that cycles occur regularly about every 28 days.

Importance of subterranean fungi in the diet of bonobos in Kokolopori
Abstract Nonstaple food is a food resource which sole consumption does not allow the maintenance of regular physiological functions, thus constituting a minor portion of an individual's diet. Many primates consume nonstaple food such as meat, insects, and fungi.

Seismic response analysis of multiple-frame bridges with unseating restrainers considering ground motion spatial variation and SSI [PDF]
Unseating damages of bridge decks have been observed in many previous major earthquakes due to large relative displacement exceeding the available seat length. Steel cable restrainers are often used to limit such relative displacements.

Wavelet-based operating deflection shapes for locating scour-related stiffness losses in multi-span bridges [PDF]
Scour erosion poses a significant risk to bridge safety worldwide and remains among the top causes of failure. Scour at bridge foundations changes the stiffness of the soil-foundation system, resulting in global changes in the dynamic behavior of the ...

Numerical simulation of barge impact on a continuous girder bridge and bridge damage detection [PDF]
Vessel collisions on bridge piers have been frequently reported. As many bridges are vital in transportation networks and serve as lifelines, bridge damage might leads to catastrophic consequences to life and economy.
