Robust Bayesian analysis of animal networks subject to biases in sampling intensity and censoring

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, Page 1273-1294, June 2025.
Abstract Data collection biases are a persistent issue for studies of social networks. This issue has been particularly important in animal social network analysis (ASNA), where data are often unevenly sampled and such biases may potentially lead to incorrect inferences about animal social behaviour.

Convergence to the planar interface for a nonlocal free‐boundary evolution

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 78, Issue 1, Page 161-208, January 2025.
Abstract We capture optimal decay for the Mullins–Sekerka evolution, a nonlocal, parabolic free boundary problem from materials science. Our main result establishes convergence of BV solutions to the planar profile in the physically relevant case of ambient space dimension three.

Lernen aus Protein‐Engineering durch Dekonvolution von Multi‐Mutationalen Enzymvarianten**

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 136, Issue 36, September 2, 2024.

The role of seismic intensity on the performance of caisson foundations supporting bridge piers: preliminary results from dynamic centrifuge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Seismic performance of caisson foundations supporting bridge piers may take advantage of soil inelastic response when subjected to strong seismic events, thanks to the soil nonlinear and hysteretic behaviour.

Brennstoffzellen der nächsten Generation

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 55, Issue 5, Page 246-251, September 2024.

Size‐Dependent Photocatalytic Reactivity of Conjugated Microporous Polymer Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 36, Issue 35, August 28, 2024.
Decreasing the size of conjugated microporous polymer (CMP) nanoparticles is proposed to overcome diffusional resistance of substrates in the porous polymer photocatalysts and improve energy efficiency of photocatalytic reactions. Smaller CMP nanoparticles show higher photocatalytic reactivity, achieving more than 1000% enhancement in the ...

Germline mutations in pediatric cancer cohort with mixed‐ancestry Mexicans

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2024.
We found that 15% of confirmed mixed‐ancestry Mexican patients were carriers of germline mutations in CDKN2A, CHEK2, DICER1, FANCA, MSH6, MUTYH, NF1, and SBDS. This first report identifies potential genetic risk factors and provides a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms of childhood cancer in this population. Abstract Background Childhood

Energy‐Balance‐Based Plastic Design and Seismic Fragility Analysis of Steel Plate Shear Wall Coupled with Steel Side Columns

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The steel plate shear wall (SPSW) coupled with steel side columns (SSCs) through steel coupling beams, or the SPSW–SSC coupled structural system, is a novel lateral force resisting system that introduces coupling mechanism to the isolated SPSW pier. To simplify the complex iteration of the conventional seismic design procedure and obtain the favorable ...
