Variational Matrix Product Operators for the Steady State of Dissipative Quantum Systems

open access: yes, 2015
We present a new variational method, based on the matrix product operator (MPO) ansatz, for finding the steady state of dissipative quantum chains governed by master equations of the Lindblad form.

Accelerating Biosensor Discovery: A Computationally‐Driven Pipeline for Microplastics Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A computationally guided pipeline unites molecular simulation, synthetic biology, electrochemical engineering, and machine learning to accelerate biosensor discovery. A Bacillus anthracis carbohydrate‐binding module is used to develop a high‐performance micro‐ and nanoplastics sensor with greatly reduced error and variability.

An Efficient Explicit Moving Particle Simulation Solver for Simulating Free Surface Flow on Multicore CPU/GPUs

open access: yesModelling
The moving particle simulation (MPS) method is a simulation technique capable of calculating free surface and incompressible flows. As a particle-based method, MPS requires significant computational resources when simulating flow in a large-scale domain ...

Production and partial purification of membrane proteins using a liposome-supplemented wheat cell-free translation system

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2011
Background Recently, some groups have reported on cell-free synthesis of functional membrane proteins (MPs) in the presence of exogenous liposomes (liposomes).

Measuring perfectionism in sport, dance, and exercise: Review, critique, recommendations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Over the past 25 years, a number of multidimensional measures of perfectionism has been developed. Based on different models of multidimensional perfectionism, these measures contain different numbers of subscales, and most of the time the different ...

Harnessing Machine Learning to Understand and Design Disordered Solids

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review maps the dynamic evolution of machine learning in disordered solids, from structural representations to generative modeling. It explores how deep learning and model explainability transform property prediction into profound physical insight.

B/ordering and healthcare access for migrants with precarious status: The role of healthcare workers in counteracting restrictive policies

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract In Canada, precarious migration is largely invisibilized. Nonetheless, b/ordering greatly affects people's realities by limiting access to social rights. In Quebec, migrants with precarious status (MPS) do not have access to healthcare, although Quebec has a “universal” healthcare coverage.

Border harm and affective injustice: The politics of anger at the Melilla border, Spain

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This article examines protests in a detention center in Melilla, Spain—a site where structural violence intersects with the everyday harms of confinement. Adopting a justice and dignity‐centered perspective, we analyze grassroots forms of resistance emerging at the border. The study focuses on the protests of Tunisian migrants and explores the

Dissecting Pirtobrutinib Resistance in Mantle Cell Lymphoma Through Single‐Cell Multi‐Omics

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pirtobrutinib (PBN), a non‐covalent BTK inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA for relapsed/refractory mantle cell lymphoma (MCL); however, resistance to PBN has been observed. To dissect the molecular dynamics driving PBN resistance, we performed integrative single‐cell multi‐omic profiling (scRNA‐seq, scATAC‐seq, and scDNA‐seq) on ...
