Quantm Magnetoresistance of the PrFeAsO oxypnictides

open access: yes, 2011
We report the observation of an unusual $B$ dependence of transverse magnetoresistance (MR) in the PrFeAsO, one of the parent compound of pnictide superconductors.

SIRT4 positively regulates autophagy via ULK1, but independently of HDAC6 and OPA1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells expressing SIRT4 (H161Y), a catalytically inactive mutant of the sirtuin SIRT4, fail to upregulate LC3B‐II and exhibit a reduced autophagic flux under stress conditions. Interestingly, SIRT4(H161Y) promotes phosphorylation of ULK1 at S638 and S758 that are associated with inhibition of autophagy initiation.

Exchange bias effect and intragranular magnetoresistance in Nd$_{0.84}Sr_{0.16}CoO_3

open access: yes, 2009
Electrical transport properties as a function of magnetic field and time have been investigated in polycrystalline, Nd_{0.84}Sr_{0.16}CoO_3. A strong exchange bias (EB) effect is observed associated with the fairly large intragranular magnetoresistance ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Patchak v. Zinke, Separation of Powers, and the Pitfalls of Form over Substance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Mr. Patchak was a concerned citizen with standing to bring a suit against the federal government. A previous Supreme Court decision, Carcieri v. Salazar, made it clear that Mr. Patchak would win his case.

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Occupational triangular fibrocartilage complex injury in a sewing machine operator

open access: yesArhiv za Higijenu Rada i Toksikologiju
Triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) injuries are associated with repetitive wrist movements and have mostly been reported in athletes but not in sewing machine operators, even though their jobs involve repetitive wrist movements.
