Experimental Analysis of MR Fluid by Magneto-Rheological (MR) Damper
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015Magneto-rheological fluids belong to a group of non-Newtonian fluids, and represent a group of purely-viscous fluids with the controllability of their properties by means of a magnetic field. In the present work, MR damper setup has designed and fabricated.

Atom transfer radical polymerized MR fluids
Polymer, 2006Abstract A novel magnetorheological fluid, in which the surface of iron particles is coated with poly(butyl acrylate) by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), is investigated. The polymer coating procedure includes two steps, which are immobilization of initiator: 2-(4-chlorosulfonylphenyl)-ethyltrichlorosilane (CTCS) on the ...

MR fluid, foam and elastomer devices
Mechatronics, 2000Abstract Magnetorheological (MR) fluids, foams and elastomers comprise a class of smart materials whose rheological properties may be controlled by the application of an external magnetic field. MR fluids are liquids whose flow or shear properties are easily controlled to enable a variety of unique torque transfer or vibration control devices.

MR Fluid Sponge Materials and Devices
Adaptive Structures and Material Systems, 2000Abstract Stable, high-strength, magnetorheological (MR) fluids and devices such as rotary brakes and linear vibration dampers that enable the benefits of controllable fluid technology are now commercially available. Recently, a new way of using MR fluids in which the fluid is contained in an absorbent matrix has been developed.

Thixotropy of MR shear-thickening fluids
Smart Materials and Structures, 2010Particle sedimentation is a key issue of conventional magnetorheological (MR) fluids. We recently fabricated MR shear-thickening fluids (MRSTF), which can work as novel MR fluids without particle settling. This merit of the material against particle settling is attributed to the thixotropy property.

Variable Inertia Damper Using MR Fluid
Volume 8: Seismic Engineering, 2016Inertia damper has an inertia effect by a flywheel which is caused by a quick moving mass. In general, it is difficult to change the inertia mass physically. In order to obtain a variable inertia effect, a new type of inertia damper has a long bypass pipe is proposed in this paper.

MR fluid structure in quasi-2D
Europhysics Letters (EPL), 2007We study the effects of quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) confinement on the self-assembly of super paramagnetic colloids found in magnetorheological (MR) fluids using the Brownian dynamics simulation technique. A uniform external magnetic field is directed normal to a thin-slit in which dilute MR fluid is confined.

Glass Polishing Technology Using MR Fluids
Journal of Rare Earths, 2007Abstract Based on the properties that yield stress would increase as an applied magnetic field increased, magnetorheological (MR) fluids were used on glass polishing. MR fluids were considered as a polishing fluid whose rigidity could be adjusted. Therefore, different polishing effects could be achieved by adjusting the strength of magnetic field ...

Sinonasal ossifying fibroma with fluid-fluid levels on MR images.
AJNR. American journal of neuroradiology, 2004Ossifying fibroma is a rare benign neoplasm that usually affects mandibular and maxillary bones. In this report, we present a case of sinonasal ossifying fibroma with fluid-fluid levels and posterior extension toward the torus tubarius on MR images.

Modeling of MR Fluids and Devices
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008Magnetorheological (MR) fluids and MR fluid devices have been under development at General Motors RD an analysis of the transient shear behavior of MR fluids; a model of the behavior of MR particles in a gravitational field; and a lumped parameter model of a MR clutch.
