Mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists: Efficacy and safety in chronic kidney disease. [PDF]
Abstract The mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) has a multifaceted role in normal physiologic functions. However, research has uncovered the deleterious consequences of overactivation of the MR. It has been implicated in chronic kidney disease (CKD) via its strong association with glomerulosclerosis, interstitial fibrosis, proteinuria, and decline in ...

Abstract Aims Cardiac decompensation in cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) results in systemic congestion usually treated with diuretics. When despite high doses of diuretics, response is poor, ultrafiltration (UF) appears to be a useful and safe technique.

Effectiveness of MRA on embolized intracranial aneurysms: a comparison of DSA, CE-MRA, and TOF-MRA.
Purpose: The endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms was proven safe and effective compared to the alternative method of surgical clipping, despite the high recurrence rate. Follow-up of embolized intracranial aneurysms is mandatory for the early detection of recurrence and improved outcomes.

eGFR slope as predictor of mortality in heart failure patients
Abstract Aims Heart failure (HF) leads to an imbalance between heart and kidney function, resulting in poor outcomes. However, the prognostic significance of the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) trajectory in HF patients remains unclear. We analysed electronic health records (EHRs) of real‐world HF patients, assessing eGFR trajectories and ...

The need for alternative MR contrast agents in direct shoulder MR arthrography (MRA) arises from limitations associated with gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs), which are deemed "off-label" for MRA and raise concerns about potential toxicity to ...

Sensorless Field-Oriented Control of a Low-Speed Six-Phase Induction Generator
This paper presents a sensorless control strategy for a six-phase induction generator (6PIG) operating at low speed (125 rpm). The proposed approach is based on the Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS), with an initial estimation scheme developed using

India and the multilateral trading system after Seattle - toward a proactive role [PDF]
The authors argue that India should engage more actively in the multilateral trading system for four reasons: First, such engagement could facilitate domestic reform, and improve access to export markets. If the government could show that domestic reform
