The International Bar Association and Trade in Legal Services: Meta Law-Making in International Economic Law? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This article presents the International Bar Association as a highly-influential but often overlooked non-state actor through the lens of its involvement in the standardization of Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA)s for legal services.

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.

Beyond Transconductance: Cell‐Polymer Coupling Determines Fidelity in Action Potential Recording via Electrolyte‐Gated Polymer Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High electrical performance alone does not guarantee efficient bioelectronic signal transduction. Despite excellent mixed ionic‐electronic conduction, recordings from cardiomyocytes reveal that p(g2T‐TT)‐based OECTs predominantly transduce field potential FP‐like signals due to weak cell‐polymer coupling.

Novel Speed Sensorless DTC Design for a Five-Phase Induction Motor with an Intelligent Fractional Order Controller Based-MRAS Estimator

open access: yesPower Electronics and Drives
This paper presents a fractional-order adaptive mechanism-based model reference adaptive system (MRAS) configuration for speed estimation of sensorless direct torque control (DTC) of a five-phase induction motor.

Semiconducting Polymer Nanoparticles Enable Light‐Controlled Bidirectional Modulation of Nitric Oxide in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bimodal modulation of nitric oxide in endothelial cells is achieved by light‐sensitive polymer nanoparticles. In dark, P3HT/PEDOT:PSS NPs boost intracellular ·NO, upregulate both endothelial and induced nitric oxide synthase, and drive a metabolic shift toward glycolysis.

A Method for Field Calibration of a Multibeam Echo Sounder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The use of multibeam echo sounders (MBES) has grown more frequent in applications like seafloor imaging, fisheries, and habitat mapping. Calibration of these instruments is important for understanding and validating the performance of MBES.

Price Premiums for Single‐Name and Compound‐Name Geographical Indications in Swiss Cheese Trade

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Geographical indications (GIs) have become increasingly important in agri‐food markets, especially in Europe. For Swiss cheese imports and exports, we analyze whether GIs are associated with higher trade prices. We find that price premiums can be obtained for both exports and imports. However, this is only the case for cheeses with single name

Induction motor control and speed estimation via adaptive and artificial intelligence method [PDF]

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2011
This paper shows the optimization of the parameters of PI controllers in the application of vector control of a three-phase induction motor by genetic algorithm for the set optimality criterion.

Contrast-enhanced coronary MRA [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1999
Coronary angiography with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has long been a goal for bringing cardiac MRI into clinical use for diagnosis of coronary artery disease. In this paper, the fundamental problems of respiratory and cardiac motion, signal-to-noise ratio, and contrast-to-noise ratio are discussed in reference to implications for coronary imaging
