Cotranscriptional Processing ofDrosophilaHistone mRNAs [PDF]
The 3' ends of metazoan histone mRNAs are generated by specialized processing machinery that cleaves downstream of a conserved stem-loop structure. To examine how this reaction might be influenced by transcription, we used a Drosophila melanogaster in vitro system that supports both processes.

This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.

It has recently been shown that CFIm25, a canonical mRNA 3’ processing factor, could play a variety of physiological roles through its molecular function in the regulation of mRNA alternative polyadenylation (APA). Here, we used CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene

Genome wide comparative analysis of the effects of PRMT5 and PRMT4/CARM1 arginine methyltransferases on the Arabidopsis thaliana transcriptome [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Methylation at arginine residues (R) is an important post-translational modification that regulates a myriad of essential cellular processes in eukaryotes, such as transcriptional regulation, RNA processing, signal transduction and DNA repair.

The Role of the Plant Nucleolus in Pre-mRNA Processing [PDF]
The nucleolus is a multifunctional compartment of the eukaryotic nucleus. Besides its well-recognised role in transcription and processing of ribosomal RNA and the assembly of ribosomal subunits, the nucleolus has functions in the processing and assembly of a variety of RNPs and is involved in cell cycle control and senescence and as a sensor of stress.

An essential nuclear protein in trypanosomes is a component of mRNA transcription/export pathway. [PDF]
In eukaryotic cells, different RNA species are exported from the nucleus via specialized pathways. The mRNA export machinery is highly integrated with mRNA processing, and includes a different set of nuclear transport adaptors as well as other mRNA ...

Markedly different ATP requirements for rRNA synthesis and mtDNA light strand transcription versus mRNA synthesis in isolated human mitochondria [PDF]
In isolated mitochondria from HeLa cells, the ATP requirements for mitochondral DNA (mtDNA) transcription and RNA processing can be satisfied by either endogenous synthesis, mainly through oxidative- phosphorylation, or by exogenous supply.

Virulence- and signaling-associated genes display a preference for long 3′UTRs during rice infection and metabolic stress in the rice blast fungus [PDF]
Generation of mRNA isoforms by alternative polyadenylation (APA) and their involvement in regulation of fungal cellular processes, including virulence, remains elusive.

Nonsense-mediated mRNA reduction and pre-mRNA processing in Drosophila [PDF]
From bacteria to mammalian cells, the presence of a nonsense mutation causes a reduction in the level of the mRNA of the corresponding gene. The reduction is not, contrary to initial expectations, due to a passive mechanism by which non translated mRNAs are degraded; rather it is a active process in which active translation, cis-acting sequences and ...
