Analysis of eicosanoids by LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS: A historical retrospect and a discussion
Journal of Chromatography B, 2014Eicosanoids are a large family that derives from arachidonic acid, i.e., eicosatetraenoic acid. Prominent members include prostaglandins, thromboxane and leukotrienes. They are biologically highly active lipid mediators and play multiple physiological roles.

Drug Testing and Analysis, 2015
This study compared the sensitivity of various separation and ionization methods, including gas chromatography with an electron ionization source (GC‐EI), liquid chromatography with an electrospray ionization source (LC‐ESI), and liquid chromatography with a silver ion coordination ion spray source (LC‐Ag+CIS), coupled to a mass spectrometer (MS) for ...

Identification of Immunogenic Epitopes by MS/MS
The Cancer Journal, 2017The interrogation of cell surface-presented immunogenic epitopes is of great importance to differentiate diseased cells in consequence to malignant transformation or viral infections. On the basis of this knowledge, next-generation immunotherapies against cancers, autoimmunity, or infectious diseases can be developed.

LC–MS/MS analysis of chitooligosaccharides
Carbohydrate Research, 2013Chitooligosaccharides with degrees of polymerization (DPs) 2-12 were successfully separated and characterized using LC-MS/MS analysis with an amine column and a quadrupole ion trap analyzer. Major MS peaks for each chromatographic peak originated from deacetylated chitooligosaccharides while N-acetylated chitooligosaccharides were observed as minor ...

PROTEOMICS, 2011
AbstractIn the last 15 years, MS‐based protein characterization has expanded at a rapid rate. This success is built upon constantly improving instrumentation and a variety of ingenious methods applied to numerous biological questions. However, the reproducibility of mass spectrometric results is considered by many as insufficient.

Analytical Chemistry, 2006
The development of a new ion mobility/mass spectrometry instrument that incorporates a multifield drift tube/ion funnel design is described. In this instrument, individual components from a mixture of ions can be resolved and selected on the basis of mobility differences prior to collisional activation inside the drift tube.

Abstract Since mass spectrometers became widely available commercially about 40 years ago, they have proved of considerable value in the determination of the structures of many classes of pure compounds. When used in conjunction with separation techniques such as gas chromatography (GC) and highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC),

Cocaine and Metabolites by LC-MS/MS
2012Abuse of the stimulant cocaine (COC) is a common problem in the United States and elsewhere. The drug can be used either as the powder or as the free base (crack COC), and causes feelings of alertness and euphoria; both forms of COC are powerfully addictive.

New concepts in MS, MS/MS and MS/MS/MS peptide and protein MALDI de-novo sequencing
2010Unambiguous and complete analysis of amino acid sequence of a protein or a peptide should be the final result of the sequence analysis [1, 2]. Edman sequencing has proven to be a powerful and sensitive strategy for the amino acid sequence analysis. [1, 3] However, up to 80 % of all proteins naturally have blocked N-termini making them resistant to the ...
