Exact Regeneration Codes for Distributed Storage Repair Using Interference Alignment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The high repair cost of (n,k) Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) erasure codes has recently motivated a new class of codes, called Regenerating Codes, that optimally trade off storage cost for repair bandwidth.

A Class of MSR Codes for Clustered Distributed Storage

open access: yes, 2018
Clustered distributed storage models real data centers where intra- and cross-cluster repair bandwidths are different. In this paper, exact-repair minimum-storage-regenerating (MSR) codes achieving capacity of clustered distributed storage are designed ...

Search for light massive gauge bosons as an explanation of the $(g-2)_\mu$ anomaly at MAMI [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A massive, but light abelian U(1) gauge boson is a well motivated possible signature of physics beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. In this paper, the search for the signal of such a U(1) gauge boson in electron-positron pair-production at the

Versatile Magneto‐Dielectric Response of Epitaxial Thin Films of the High Entropy Oxide Perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The magnetic high entropy oxide perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3 exhibits a substantially large dielectric constant (εr) at room temperature, which shows distinct anionic and cationic contributions in the form of zero and finite bias peaks, respectively, down to its magnetic transition temperature (Tmag).

Comparison of Distance and Angular Analysis for Measurement of Hamstring Flexibility in Preschoolers

open access: yesChildren, 2022
The study aimed to (1) investigate the reliability and usefulness of a proposed angular analysis during a modified sit-and-reach (MSR) test, and (2) compare the proposed MSR angular analysis and the commonly used MSR distance to verify the influence of ...

Let's face it. A review of Keenan, Gallup, & Falk's book "The Face in the Mirror" [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Using neuroimaging experiments and neuropsychological case studies, Keenan mainly examines the neural basis of mirror self-recognition (MSR) and Theory of Mind (TOM), and proposes that self-awareness is dominantly associated with areas of the right ...

Well Structured Transition Systems with History [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a formal model of concurrent systems in which the history of a computation is explicitly represented as a collection of events that provide a view of a sequence of configurations. In our model events generated by transitions become part of the

Nature‐Inspired Surface Modification Strategy Reverses the Autophagic Flux Impairment of Mitochondrial Transplantation for Attenuating Ischemic Strokes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The functionalized starch modifies the mitochondrial surface and encapsulates resveratrol into the cavity of helices, facilitating a novel mitochondrial transplantation platform (MLSR). Upon internalization in recipient cells, MLSR triggers mitophagy and maintains positive autophagic flux through RIP1/RIP3 pathway inhibition.
