Understory Plant Community Response to a Range of Restoration Scenarios in Northeast US Pitch Pine (Pinus rigida) Barrens

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 28, Issue 3, July/September 2025.
Understory plant communities in pitch pine (Pinus rigida) barrens show distinct species abundance and structural attributes associated with different restoration strategies. We investigated the impacts of four management approaches, along with untreated control sites across four states in the Northeast United States.

Re-entrant behavior of relaxation time with viscosity at varying composition in binary mixtures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
In order to understand the long known anomalies in the composition dependence of diffusion and viscosity of binary mixtures, we introduce here two new models and carry out extensive molecular dynamic simulations.

A 6.6‐GHz Dual‐Path Reference‐Sampling PLL With 139.6‐fs RMS Jitter and −75.2‐dBc Spur in 28‐nm CMOS

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper presents a dual‐path reference‐sampling phase‐locked loop (RSPLL) with low RMS jitter, low reference spur, and compact area. The proposed RSPLL is implemented in a 28‐nm CMOS process. With a 100‐MHz input reference, the prototype achieves 139.6‐fs RMS jitter (1 kHz‐100 MHz), −75.2‐dBc reference spur and −250.5‐dB FOM.

The Effect Of Omitted Spatial Effects And Social Dependence In The Modelling Of Household Expenditure For Fruits And Vegetables [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We find the omitted elements of the external environment affect negatively the estimates for other spatial (social) effect parameters. Especially, we notice the overestimation of the random effect variance when the social dependence is omitted and the ...

2D human skeleton action recognition with spatial constraints

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, Volume 18, Issue 7, Page 968-981, October 2024.
(1) A novel 2D human skeleton action recognition model with spatial constraints, named 2D‐SCHAR, is introduced to address the ambiguity and uncertainty associated with human action recognition in 2D surveillance videos. (2) These issues stem from the absence of depth information in the action data, thus we concentrate on two main challenges: depth ...
