Local magnitude estimate at Mt. Etna
In order to verify the duration magnitude MD we calculated local magnitude ML values of 288 earthquakes occurring from October 2002 to April 2003 at Mt. Etna.

Porous aerosol in degassing plumes of Mt. Etna and Mt. Stromboli [PDF]
Aerosols of the volcanic degassing plumes from Mt. Etna and Mt. Stromboli were probed with in situ instruments on board the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt research aircraft Falcon during the contrail, volcano, and cirrus experiment CONCERT ...

The DEM of Mt. Etna: Geomorphological and structural implications [PDF]
AbstractA Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of Mt. Etna is presented; it has altimetric and planimetric resolution of 1 m and 5 m, respectively, and covers an area of about 120 km . This 3-D view of Mt. Etna allowed both recognition and location of the main morphostructural and volcano-tectonic features of the volcano.

The paper presents the results of a radiometric survey carried out on the eastern ank of Mt. Etna over an area of approximately 120 km2. Activity concentrations of 238,234U, 232,230,228Th, 226,228Ra, from 238U and 232Th decay chains, and potassium 40K were determined using α- and γ- spectrometry techniques.

A Model For Internal Dynamical Processes On Mt Etna [PDF]
SUMMARY Results of studies concerning seismic activity (earthquakes and tremor) and its relation with eruptive events on Mt Etna are briefly discussed. Seismic records collected from 1977 up to 1986 have been analysed and special care was given to observation of changes in some seismic parameters, such as the rate of microseismic activity, the ...

Re-pressurized magma at Mt. Etna, Italy, may feed eruptions for years
Melt accumulating in multiple reservoirs beneath Mt Etna could feed eruptions for decades to come, according to detailed seismic tomography modelling.

Infrasonic gliding reflects a rising magma column at Mount Etna (Italy)
Infrasound is increasing applied as a tool to investigate magma dynamics at active volcanoes, especially at open-vent volcanoes, such as Mt. Etna (Italy), which are prodigious sources of infrasound. Harmonic infrasound signals have been used to constrain

New data on the morphology, ecology and distribution of Lupinus gredensis (Fabaceae) in the Mediterranean region [PDF]
Lupinus gredensis is generally treated as an endemic species to the Iberian Peninsula, with some occurrences reported for the eastern Mediterranean, considered to be the result of an introduction.

Tilt offset associated with local seismicity: the Mt. Etna January 9, 2001 seismic swarm.
On the 9th of January 2001 a seismic swarm on the southeastern flank of Mt. Etna at 3.5 km beside sea level (b.s.l.), caused co-seismic variations on short and long baseline tiltmeters of the Mt. Etna permanent tilt network.
