Assessing Risk Priority Numbers of Failures in the Screw Tightening Machine of a Hard Disk Drive Production System

open access: yesJournal of Machine Engineering, 2022
In a competitive environment, many production industries must reduce costs while maintaining asset value and reliability. In the manufacturing process, the machine is essential because downtime can inhibit and stop production. This study investigated the

Optimization of the replacement time for critical repairable components

open access: yesDyna, 2020
Equipment-intensive industries must manage critical components due to their impact on the availability and high inventory carrying costs. In this context, this study seeks to assess mean times between interventions (MTBI) and mean times between failures

Availability analysis of resilient geometric routing on Internet topology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Scalable routing schemes for large-scale networks, especially future Internet, are required. Geometric routing scheme is a promising candidate to solve the scalability issue of routing tables in conventional IP routing based on longest prefix matching ...

Split-Stirling, linear-resonant, cryogenic refrigerators for detector cooling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
For the past decade, military IR systems have preferred to see cryogenic coolers provided as split units; separating the functions of compressor and cold-end for system packaging and vibration isolation reasons.

A Probability‐Aware AI Framework for Reliable Anti‐Jamming Communication

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, Volume 11, Issue 2, Page 349-366, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Adversarial jamming attacks have increased on communication systems, causing distortion and threatening transmissions. Typical attacks rely on traditional, well‐defined cryptographic protocols and frequency‐hopping techniques. Nevertheless, these techniques become vulnerable when facing intelligent jammers.

Reliability Calculation for Dormant k-out-of-n Systems with Periodic Maintenance [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences, 2016
In this paper, a dormant k-out-of-n systems redundancy calculation will be introduced. Dormant failure is a failure that cannot be detected when it occurs because of the nature of the failure characteristic. Therefore, a dormant failure becomes the blind

Identification of Critical Machine in Textile Industry Using Reliability‐Centred Maintenance and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis—A Case Study of Bahir Dar Textile's Share Company

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The study aims to mitigate these risks through the implementation of a structured RCM policy. The findings indicate that the machines in the spinning section are the most critical in terms of their failure impact. Implementing the RCM methodology demonstrates significant economic benefits by reducing risk through a targeted FMEA approach.
