MULTI-FACETED ANALYSIS OF MTPL PRICE LIBERALIZATIONIN THE RA: STRATEGIES AND MARKET DYNAMICS

open access: yesBulletin of Yerevan University G: Economics
The Mandatory Third Party Liability (MTPL) insurance in Armenia is pivotal in covering damages caused to third parties by insured vehicles, encompassing both material prejudice and bodily injury compensation. Over its thirteen-year implementation, the system has evolved, with significant changes such as the introduction of bonus-malus (BM) components ...

Quadriceps Tendon Lengthening for Obligatory (Habitual) Patellar Dislocation in Flexion. [PDF]

open access: yesArthrosc Tech, 2022
Abstract Obligatory patella dislocation in flexion is an uncommon form of patellar instability, where the patella is located in extension and dislocates with every episode of knee flexion. This results in dramatically altered patellofemoral kinematics and can be extremely debilitating due to extensor strength deficits and lack of knee confidence in ...

Molecular Characterization and In Silico Analyses of Maurolipin Structure as a Secretory Phospholipase A 2 (sPLA2) from Venom Glands of Iranian Scorpio maurus (Arachnida: Scorpionida). [PDF]

open access: yesJ Trop Med, 2022
The venom is a mixture of various compounds with specific biological activities, such as the phospholipase A2 (PLA2) enzyme present in scorpion venom. PLA2 plays a key role in inhibiting ryanodine receptor channels and has neurotoxic activity. This study is the first investigation of molecular characterization, cloning, and in silico analyses of PLA2 ...

Documentation and Prediction of Increasing Groundwater Chloride in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. [PDF]

open access: yesGround Water, 2022
Abstract We provide a comprehensive overview of historic chloride concentrations in the groundwater of the Twin Cities metropolitan area (TCMA) in Minnesota, in order to define the extent of chloride contamination, due primarily to the seasonal application of deicing salt to roadways.

Olfactory Receptor Responses to Pure Odorants in Drosophila melanogaster. [PDF]

open access: yesEur J Neurosci
Odorants were purified by gas chromatography and elicited calcium responses in D. melanogasters olfactory sensory neurons, measured on the antenna. Different olfactory receptor types revealed their specific response profile. Calcium responses to different odorant concentrations were recorded to investigate strong ligands of a receptor type.

The multivariate Poisson‐Generalized Inverse Gaussian claim count regression model with varying dispersion and shape parameters

open access: yesRisk Management and Insurance Review, Volume 25, Issue 4, Page 401-417, Winter 2022., 2022
Abstract We introduce a multivariate Poisson‐Generalized Inverse Gaussian regression model with varying dispersion and shape for modeling different types of claims and their associated counts in nonlife insurance. The multivariate Poisson‐Generalized Inverse Gaussian regression model is a general class of models which, under the approach adopted herein,

Thermolab: A Thermodynamics Laboratory for Nonlinear Transport Processes in Open Systems

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2022., 2022
Abstract We developed a numerical thermodynamics laboratory called “Thermolab” to study the effects of the thermodynamic behavior of nonideal solution models on reactive transport processes in open systems. The equations of the state of internally consistent thermodynamic data sets are implemented in MATLAB functions and form the basis for calculating ...

Connected and autonomous vehicle injury loss events: Potential risk and actuarial considerations for primary insurers

open access: yesRisk Management and Insurance Review, Volume 24, Issue 1, Page 5-35, Spring 2021., 2021
Abstract The introduction of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) to the road transport ecosystem will change the manner of collisions. CAVs are expected to optimize the safety of road users and the wider environment, while alleviating traffic congestion and maximizing occupant comfort.
