Recitation Mode Is Associated With Salivary CREB and Cortisol Responses during Qur'anic Recitation
Brain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.The study compared three conditions: passive rest, sight‐reading, and memorized Qur'anic recitation. Memorized recitation was associated with higher adjusted post‐task salivary CREB levels than sight‐reading and passive rest, whereas both active recitation conditions were associated with cortisol attenuation relative to passive rest.
