Epidemiology of Four Major Canine Tumours in the UK: Insights From a National Pathology Registry With Comparative Oncology Perspectives

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, Volume 24, Issue 2, Page 324-340, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Pet dogs with naturally occurring cancers provide valuable models for comparative oncology and pathology tumour registries offer a powerful resource for onco‐epidemiological research. Here, we analysed the Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET) pathology‐based tumour registry (PTR), one of the largest veterinary tumour ...

Treatment of Reactive Histiocytosis With Oclacitinib: A Retrospective Case Series of 10 Dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 3, Page 419-426, June 2026.
Background: Canine reactive histiocytosis is a proliferative disorder of activated interstitial dendritic cells with cutaneous and systemic forms. An immune‐mediated aetiology is likely, and systemic immunomodulatory agents such as corticosteroids, tetracycline/niacinamide, ciclosporin, azathioprine and leflunomide have been employed for its management.

Synchronous Haemorrhagic Tumors of the Anterior Maxilla and Oropharynx

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Photomicrograph of a low‐power view of partially ulcerated squamous mucosa with underlying vascular proliferation showing anastomosing vascular channels. Hematoxylin and eosin stain. Magnification ×20. ABSTRACT Oral epithelioid angiosarcoma arising in the oral cavity is exceptionally rare.

Advanced Gastric Cancer Presenting as a Giant Subepithelial Lesion: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
A giant subepithelial lesion. ABSTRACT Gastric cancer may occasionally present with a subepithelial lesion‐like appearance. When a gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is suspected preoperatively without definitive pathological confirmation, intraoperative frozen section analysis is recommended to prevent inappropriate surgical intervention.

Extranodal NK/T‐Cell Lymphoma in the Nasal Region Illustrating the Differential Diagnosis of Lesions of the Face

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Histopathological analysis of an infiltrative nasal lesion, diagnostic for Extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma (ENKTL), with its characteristic angiotropism, angiodestruction, and immunohistochemical staining, including positivity for EBER. ABSTRACT Extranodal NK/T‐cell lymphoma is an aggressive malignancy, rare in Western populations, that can mimic benign ...

Immunodeficiencies caused by infectious diseases. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Immunodeficiencies caused by infectious agents may result from disruption of normal host barriers or dysregulation of cellular immunity, the latter serving to promote survival of the infectious agent through immune evasion.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia with IGH::BCL3‐translocation is characterized by a homogeneous and distinct genetic and epigenetic landscape

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Approximately 1% of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cases harbor a translocation juxtaposing the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IGH) and B‐cell lymphoma 3 (BCL3) loci. Aiming at comprehensive molecular characterization of IGH::BCL3‐positive B‐cell neoplasms, we here investigated samples from 84 patients using fluorescence in situ hybridization

Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Mutations in Cancer: From Bench to Bedside Applications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Mutant isocitrate dehydrogenase affects multiple cancer types. Alterations in IDH1 and IDH2 result in abnormal enzyme activity, leading to the overproduction of D‐2‐hydroxyglutarate (D‐2HG). This metabolite disrupts cellular metabolism and epigenetic regulation, driving cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis.

Duodenal mucinous adenocarcinoma in a dog: Correlation between cytology, histopathology and proliferation index

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract An 8‐year‐old female Schnauzer presented with chronic postprandial vomiting. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed a thickened duodenal segment with loss of wall layering and decreased mesenteric reactivity. Exploratory laparotomy and segmental duodenectomy were performed on the patient.
