Mueller-matrix diagnostics of optical properties inherent to polycrystalline networks of human blood plasma [PDF]
This work is aimed at studying the possibilities of Mueller-matrix diagnostics applied to optically anisotropic birefringent polycrystalline networks inherent to amino acids in human blood plasma. Determined here are interrelations between statistical

Extracting Superficial Scattering by Q‐Sensing Technique
Exploring the use of polarized light by Q‐sensing technique to enhance sensing of abnormal situations in tissue. By isolating superficial scattering from deeper layers, identifying areas of depolarization is possible, allowing the detection of tissue abnormalities and extraction of superficial scattering. The experimental results are supported by Monte

ABSTRACT Background and aims Soil microbes adapt to varying nutrient inputs by modifying their utilization strategies, with root exudates and animal urine serving as key carbon (C) and nutrient sources in grasslands. Nonetheless, the specific mechanisms by which cow urine and root exudates influence microbial community and resource utilization remain ...

How Does Entrepreneurs' Grit Predict Effectual Decision‐Making?
ABSTRACT Entrepreneurs' grit is one of the most relevant predictors of new venture performance. We investigate whether the “stubbornness” of entrepreneurs' grit negatively relates to their effectual decision‐making abilities. Understanding the underlying mechanisms is relevant because the effectual decision‐making abilities of founders are crucial for ...

Active chitosan coating to inhibit decay and maintain mango postharvest quality
Abstract BACKGROUND Microbial decay limits the storage, quality and trade of mangoes (Mangifera indica). We developed an active chitosan coating containing zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO‐NPs) and Eucalyptus radiata essential oil (EEO) to inhibit decay and preserve postharvest quality of mango. Chitosan (cationic) can disrupt microbial membranes; ZnO‐NPs

Analysis of polarization introduced due to the telescope optics of the Thirty Meter Telescope [PDF]
An analytical model has been developed to estimate the polarization effects, such as instrumental polarization (IP), crosstalk (CT), and depolarization, due to the optics of the Thirty Meter Telescope.

Vocal Fold Scar Treatment via Controlled Dexamethasone Delivery With a Light‐Activatable Implant
A light‐activatable dexamethasone implant was employed for the treatment of vocal fold (VF) scarring in a rabbit model. The implant enables controlled, repeatable drug release via near‐infrared laser irradiation, improving biomechanics, vibratory function, and histological architecture at the injury site.
