Engineering Chiroptical Interactions through Integrating Plasmonic Arrays with Cholesteric Nanocellulose

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
In this study, we demonstrate how the combination of plant‐based cellulose and gold nanoparticle lines produces robust, tunable chiral light control in composite films. The resulting plasmonic cellulose composite exhibits a strong plasmonic CD at the surface lattice resonance, along with an inversion of chiroptical response upon reversing the ...

Preservation of Historically and Scientifically Important Geospatial Data From Venus

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract A large volume of scientifically and historically important data from the early exploration of Venus is not widely available to researchers. Our work is focused on ameliorating this problem with the archival of geospatial data including radar, topography, and radiometry.

Polarized Light Backscattering From Turbid Media: Why Do Rayleigh Scatterers Preserve Linear Polarization More Than Circular Polarization?

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 4, 19 February 2026.
Turbid media containing small‐sized Rayleigh‐regime scatterers present a ‘special case’ in which linearly polarized light is found to be less depolarized than circularly polarized light. The underlying mechanisms that give rise to this phenomenon are not yet understood.

Mueller polarimetry of discontinuous gold films

open access: yesSemiconductor physics, quantum electronics and optoelectronics, 2019
The problem of controlling morphology of discontinuous gold films by the method of optical angular Mueller-polarimetry is considered. A set of the samples of such films with different amounts of sputtered metal has been fabricated and studied. The reference structure control was carried out by atomic force microscopy and measurement of the film ...

Structure‐Response Relationships in Rigid C2‐Symmetric Excitonic Systems: Principles, Modulation, and Functional Design Strategies

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 2, January 2026.
Rigid C2‐symmetric chromophores reveal how transition dipole orientation, magnitude, and conformational locking govern exciton coupling and g‐factor amplification, providing a structural blueprint for the rational design of advanced chiroptical molecular and material architectures.

Arbitrary polarization control with a segmented APPLE‐II undulator

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 1, Page 73-83, January 2026.
A four‐segmented APPLE‐II undulator was constructed, and its operation has started at NanoTerasu BL13U. The performance of arbitrary polarization control using phase shifters is demonstrated.A newly developed four‐segmented APPLE‐II undulator enables arbitrary polarization control in the soft to tender X‐ray region.

Diffraction order‐engineered polarization‐dependent silicon nano‐antennas metagrating for compact subtissue Mueller microscopy

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 14, Issue 27, Page 5277-5289, December 2025.
Abstract A polarization‐dependent silicon nano‐antennas metagrating (PSNM) is proposed for parallel polarization transformation by engineering diffraction orders, upon which a compact Mueller microscopy system is implemented for subtissue‐level polarization extraction.

Compound meta‐optics: there is plenty of room at the top

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 14, Issue 23, Page 3835-3849, 02 November 2025.
Abstract Metasurfaces have been widely exploited in imaging and sensing, holography, light–matter interaction, and optical communications in free space and on chip, thanks to their CMOS compatibility, versatility and compact form. However, as this technology matured from novelty to performance, stringent requirements on diffraction efficiency ...

From Low Symmetry to High Dissymmetry: Chiral Plasmonic Films of Binary and Nanobipyramid Assemblies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 45, November 5, 2025.
This work develops highly dissymmetric chiral plasmonic thin films by helically assembling gold nano bipyramids within a liquid‐crystal template. Engineering of the chiroptical response is achieved by varying particle size and geometry, as well as preparing binary assemblies.

Mueller matrix polarimetry using full Poincaré beams

open access: yesOptics and Lasers in Engineering, 2019
Full Poincaré beams (FPBs) are proposed for polarimetric applications. Such beams present all states of totally polarized light across their transverse section at once and therefore can be considered as parallel polarization state generators. A simple setup, including a FPB as input light, has been designed and implemented to measure the Mueller matrix
