Fish Community Composition Revealed by eDNA Metabarcoding in Mangrove‐Associated Lagoons of Negombo and Puttalam, Sri Lanka

eDNA metabarcoding revealed distinct fish community composition between Negombo and Puttalam lagoons, with richness broadly comparable to conventional surveys. The approach detected diverse taxa, including cryptic taxa, demonstrating its value as a complementary tool for biodiversity monitoring in Sri Lanka's mangrove‐associated lagoons.

Bacterial indole‐3‐butyric acid promotes fish PUFA synthesis

Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are essential nutrients in aquatic products, yet the contribution of gut microbiota‐derived metabolites to PUFA biosynthesis remains largely unknown. In this study, a gut‐derived Bacillus strain was identified to enhance PUFA accumulation via indole‐3‐butyric acid (IBA) production.
