An Off-Axis Catadioptric Division of Aperture Optical System for Multi-Channel Infrared Imaging
Multi-channel optical systems can provide more feature information compared to single-channel systems, making them valuable for optical remote sensing, target identification, and other applications.

Increased Endurance of Nonvolatile Photonics Enabled by Nanostructured Phase‐Change Materials
Tapered and segmented islands of the phase‐change material (PCM) antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) integrated on silicon microring resonators enable ultra‐low‐loss, high‐endurance, non‐volatile photonic tuning. The nanostructured PCM design suppresses interfacial scattering and thermal stress, achieving record endurance over 100 million electrical switching ...

ISO observations and models of galaxies with Hidden Broad Line Regions
We present ISO mid-infrared spectrophotometry and far-infrared photometry of galaxies with Hidden Broad Line Regions (HBLR). We also present radiative transfer models of their spectral energy distributions which enable us to separate the contributions ...

A wafer‐scale 2D high‐entropy (MoWTaNbRu)S2 thin‐film catalyst with a distorted 1T phase integrated onto p‐Si photocathode is designed for highly efficient and durable photoelectrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction. The high‐entropy effect in layered transition metal dichalcogenides optimizes hydrogen adsorption energetics, accelerates photogenerated

Noise Mitigation of the SMOS L1C Multi-Angle Brightness Temperature Based on the Lookup Table
Owing to the inherently lower sensitivity of microwave aperture synthesis radiometers (ASRs), Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) satellite brightness temperature (TB) measurements exhibit significantly greater system noise than real-aperture ...

Bioelectrical Interfaces Beyond Excitable Cells: Cancer, Aging, and Gene Expression Modulation
ABSTRACT The investigation of biological conductivity has evolved from its classical foundation based on ionic fluxes underpinning cardiac and neuronal excitability to a multifaceted regulator of cellular physiology. Traditional approaches for probing electrical events in living matter focused largely on action potentials recording.

Multi-Aperture CMOS Sun Sensor for Microsatellite Attitude Determination
This paper describes the high precision digital sun sensor under development at the University of Naples. The sensor determines the sun line orientation in the sensor frame from the measurement of the sun position on the focal plane.

Extragalactic infrared spectroscopy [PDF]
The spectra of galaxies in the near infrared atmospheric transmission windows are explored. Emission lines were detected due to molecular hydrogen, atomic hydrogen recombination lines, a line attributed to FEII, and a broad CO absorption feature.

Galaxies at z=4 and the Formation of Population II
We report the discovery of four high-redshift objects (3.3 < z < 4) observed behind the rich cluster CL0939+4713 (Abell 851). One object (DG 433) has a redshift of z=3.3453; the other three objects have redshifts of z\approx 4: A0 at z=3.9819, DG 353 and

Non‐Continuous Iridescent Variable Structural Color Based on Metallic Surface Periodic Structures
This study presents an ink‐free laser nanofabrication technique that generates periodic arched microstructures on titanium surfaces, achieving non‐continuous iridescent dual‐color switching. The ridge and side flanks of these structures possess distinct oxide film thicknesses, enabling angle‐dependent selective reflection of specific wavelengths.
