Science Verification Results from PMAS

open access: yes, 2003
PMAS, the Potsdam Multi-Aperture Spectrophotometer, is a new integral field instrument which was commissioned at the Calar Alto 3.5m Telescope in May 2001. We report on results obtained from a science verification run in October 2001.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Improved method to optimize the phase jump of multiple exposure-tiled gratings

open access: yesHigh Power Laser Science and Engineering
Large-aperture gratings have significant applications in inertial confinement fusion, immersion lithography manufacturing and astronomical observation. Currently, it is challenging and expensive to manufacture sizable monolithic gratings.

A Multi-Stage Model for the Electromagnetic Shielding Effectiveness Prediction of an Infinite Conductor Plane With Periodic Apertures

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper focuses on the shielding effectiveness (SE) prediction of the periodic aperture array on an infinite conductor plane against a plane electromagnetic wave with its wavelength much larger than the size of a unit cell of the array.

Pupil phase encoding for multi-aperture imaging [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2008
Digital super-resolution refers to computational techniques that exploit the generalized sampling theorem to extend image resolution beyond the pixel spacing of the detector, but not beyond the optical limit (Nyquist spatial frequency) of the lens. The approach to digital super-resolution taken by the PERIODIC multi-lenslet camera project is to solve a

PSF and field of view characteristics of imaging and nulling interferometers

open access: yes, 2010
In this communication are presented some complements to a recent paper entitled "Simple Fourier optics formalism for high angular resolution systems and nulling interferometry", dealing with imaging and nulling capacities of a few types of multi-aperture

Biodegradable and Recyclable Luminescent Mixed‐Matrix‐Membranes, Hydrogels, and Cryogels based on Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks and Biopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Design of a Three-Channel Common-Aperture Optical System Based on Modular Layout

open access: yesPhotonics
Multi-channel common-aperture optical systems, which excel at simultaneous multi-spectral information acquisition, are widely used for image fusion. However, complex systems for long-distance multi-band detection suffer from difficulties in assembly and ...

Star Formation History and Extinction in the central kpc of M82-like Starbursts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We report on the star formation histories and extinction in the central kpc region of a sample of starburst galaxies that have similar far infrared (FIR), 10 micron and K-band luminosities as those of the archetype starburst M82.
