Automatic Generation Control (AGC) in multi-area interconnected power systems is experiencing several adaptions due to increasing level of power converter based components in the system. The concept of Virtual Synchronous Power (VSP) to simulate the dynamic effects of virtual inertia emulations by HVDC links for higher level control applications is ...

A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

On multi-area control in electric power systems
In this paper we study the concept of electric power system control, when the responsibility for controlling the entire system is shared by agents controlling their assigned areas. Within this framework, we suggest to study the dynamics created by the interactions of agents.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Optimal Linear Precoding in Multi-User MIMO Systems: A Large System Analysis
We consider the downlink of a single-cell multi-user MIMO system in which the base station makes use of $N$ antennas to communicate with $K$ single-antenna user equipments (UEs) randomly positioned in the coverage area.
