Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Multi-attribute Decision-making in Economics of Fire Protection

open access: yesEngineering Economics, 2011
The economic decisions concerning fire safety of built property may involve alternative solutions (alternatives) of fire protection measures, comparison of buildings with different fire safety levels, choice among construction products with different properties of performance in fire.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Evaluation and Decision Making of Organization Quality Specific Immunity Based on MGDM-IPLAO Method

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2019
As the starting point, the immunity theory is introduced into the organization quality management, combined with the organization quality specific immunity system, the evaluation index system of organization quality specific immunity is designed. And the

Multi-Attribute Decision Making with Weighted Description Logics. [PDF]

open access: yesFLAP, 2017
We introduce a decision-theoretic framework based on Description Logics (DLs), which can be used to encode and solve single stage multi-attribute de- cision problems. In particular, we consider the background knowledge as a DL knowledge base where each attribute is represented by a concept, weighted by a utility value which is asserted by the user ...

The Interval Cognitive Network Process for Multi-Attribute Decision-Making [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2017
Aiming at combining the good characteristics of a differential scale in representing human cognition and the favorable properties of interval judgments in expressing decision-makers’ uncertainty, this paper proposes the interval cognitive network process (I-CNP) to extend the primitive cognition network process (P-CNP) to handle interval judgments. The

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Entropy Method of Multi-Attribute Decision-Making Problems [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Food choice aims to identify the solution totheexiguity of the food. It is possible to do this through diversification. Finding the best selection of food alternatives is the goal of food diversification..
