Data collection in wireless sensor networks using mobile base stations and geographic forwarding

open access: yes, 2008
In wireless sensor networks deployed for collecting data related to environmental monitoring a challenging issue is to distribute relaying traffic evenly among the networks nodes to avoid overloads with consequent fast battery depletion of nodes ...

Bridging Horizontal to Vertical Radiative Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Radiative cooling materials are mature but only work facing the sky, confining them to rooftops. Instead of developing new ones, this system bridges existing horizontal coolers to vertical windows using blades outside the glass. On an occupied urban building, windows stay up to 1.4°C below air temperature while preserving daylight, outward views, and ...

Integrated O2 and H2 Gas Therapy via Microneedle‐Assisted Photocatalytic Water Splitting for Accelerating Diabetic Full‐Thickness Skin Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A concept of integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy is achieved using a gas‐producing material. PMP nanoparticles, fabricated from platinum, MIL‐101(Fe)‐NH2, and phosphotungstic acid, are integrated into bilayer gelatin methacryloyl microneedles for transdermal delivery. These microneedles enable integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy and promote wound healing via

High‐Throughput Screening for Accelerated Oxide Glass Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput screening platform is presented that allows for accelerating laboratory glass synthesis by a factor of 102, using multicomponent stereolithographic printing. Automatic sample evaluation is achieved via Raman spectroscopy and similarity analysis without any sample preparation.

Multi-Base Station Coordination for Semi-Persistent Scheduling in Industrial 5G Wireless Time-Sensitive Networks

open access: yes2025 International Symposium on Networks, Computers and Communications (ISNCC)
In this paper, we design a 5G-compliant semi-persistent scheduling algorithm that guarantees determinism (i.e., bounded delay and zero jitter) over the wireless link for delay-constrained traffic. This is especially important for industrial remote control applications handling time-sensitive traffic.
