Spatial-Spectral-Efficiency-enhanced Multi-Core Fiber
Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2015A spatial-spectral-efficiency (SSE)-enhanced multi-core fiber (MCF) is designed by considering splicing loss, transmission distance, attenuation, and nonlinearity. Proposed MCF achieves highest SSE ever-fabricated single-mode MCFs with transmission distance up to 4,000 km.

CapEx advantages of multi-core fiber networks
Photonic Network Communications, 2015We investigate capital expenditure (CapEx) advantages of multi-core fiber (MCF) networks by modeling and solving CapEx-minimized planning problem. Integer linear programming model is established, and numerical results are calculated and analyzed. We conduct the solving process under two kinds of traffic patterns of light traffic and heavy traffic.

Multi-Core Fibers for High Capacity Transmission
Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2012Various approaches for suppressing inter-core crosstalk of multi-core fiber and state-of-the-art low-crosstalk multi-core fiber feasible to ultra-long-haul transmission are reviewed. Additionally, preferable way to improve spatial spectral efficiency is discussed.
