Advancing Theoretical Integration of Distrust: A Multilevel Examination of Its Theoretical Foundations, Dynamics, and Mechanisms

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, Volume 43, Issue 1, Page 68-87, January 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses persistent gaps in distrust scholarship by systematically reviewing studies published from 1998 to 2024. We refine distrust as a construct distinct from trust, mistrust, and suspicion, shaped by unique cognitive, emotional, and behavioral mechanisms.

A Novel Image Steganographic Method Based on Enhanced PIWT and Modified Optimal Pixel Adjustment Process

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a novel image steganographic method based on an enhanced Pyramid Integer Wavelet Transform (PIWT) combined with a Modified Optimal Pixel Adjustment Process (MOPAP). The PIWT enables integer‐to‐integer transformation, avoiding floating‐point computations and improving its suitability for efficient implementation.

An integrated integral projection model (IPM2) to disentangle size‐structured harvest and natural mortality

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 157-174, January 2026.
An IPM2—a combination of an integrated population model and integral projection model—creates a synergistic modelling framework useful for disentangling multiple size‐structured demographic rates and understanding the effectiveness of invasive European green crab removal efforts.

There Is No Rose Without a Thorn: Examining the Contribution of Collaborative Platforms to Sustaining Collaborative Governance

open access: yesGovernance, Volume 39, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the extent to which collaborative platforms contribute to strengthening the collaborative governance capacity of municipal governments, focusing on smart city development as an empirical context. Drawing on survey data from 289 municipal government officials and using a multinomial logit model, we test eight hypotheses ...

Using GPT‐4 to Augment Imbalanced Data for Automatic Scoring

open access: yesJournal of Educational Measurement, Volume 62, Issue 4, Page 959-995, Winter 2025.
Abstract Machine learning‐based automatic scoring faces challenges with imbalanced student responses across scoring categories. To address this, we introduce a novel text data augmentation framework that leverages GPT‐4, a generative large language model specifically tailored for imbalanced datasets in automatic scoring.

Bell Polynomials Approach Applied to (2 + 1)-Dimensional Variable-Coefficient Caudrey-Dodd-Gibbon-Kotera-Sawada Equation

open access: yes, 2014
The bilinear form, bilinear Backlund transformation, and Lax pair of a (2 + 1)-dimensional variable-coefficient Caudrey-Dodd-Gibbon-Kotera-Sawada equation are derived through Bell polynomials. The integrable constraint conditions on variable coefficients

Predictive Approaches for 3D‐Printing: Methods and Approaches for Polymeric Materials

open access: yesWIREs Computational Molecular Science, Volume 15, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
3D printing shows great promise, but suffers from a restricted range of materials. We show how computational methods, from physics‐based to data‐driven methods, can streamline the development of new polymer materials. Developing integrated approaches offers future opportunities in autonomous discovery and design, harnessing 3D printing's full potential.

MskAge—An Epigenetic Biomarker of Musculoskeletal Age Derived From a Genetic Algorithm Islands Model

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 9, September 2025.
Created in BioRender. Laird, E. (2025) https://BioRender.com/bqfajrn. ABSTRACT Age is a significant risk factor for functional decline and disease of the musculoskeletal system, yet few biomarkers exist to facilitate ageing research in musculoskeletal tissues. Multivariate models based on DNA methylation, termed epigenetic clocks, have shown promise as

Eigenlogic: a Quantum View for Multiple-Valued and Fuzzy Systems

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a matrix model for two- and many-valued logic using families of observables in Hilbert space, the eigenvalues give the truth values of logical propositions where the atomic input proposition cases are represented by the respective eigenvectors.
