Entropy Estimation and Multi-Dimensional Scale Saliency
2010 20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2010In this paper we survey two multi-dimensional Scale Saliency approaches based on graphs and the k-d partition algorithm. In the latter case we introduce a new divergence metric and we show experimentally its suitability. We also show an application of multi-dimensional Scale Saliency to texture discrimination.

Rule Visualization based on Multi-Dimensional Scaling
2006 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2006This paper presents an approach to visualizing and exploring high-dimensional rules in two-dimensional views. The proposed method uses multi-dimensional scaling to place the rule centers and subsequently extends the rules' regions to depict their overlap.
