Micro-/nanoscale multi-field coupling in nonlinear photonic devices

Semiconductor Science and Technology, 2017
Abstract The coupling of mechanics/electronics/photonics may improve the performance of nanophotonic devices not only in the linear region but also in the nonlinear region. This review letter mainly presents the recent advances on multi-field coupling in nonlinear photonic devices.

Kinematic Modeling of Magnetically-Actuated Robotic Catheter in Nonlinearly-Coupled Multi-Field

IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2021
Magnetically-actuated robotic catheter (MARC) has shown great potential in minimally-invasive surgery because they can be steered remotely and wirelessly. However, when driven by external permanent magnets (EPM), the MARC is subject to nonlinearly-coupled gravitational, magnetic, and elastic forces, simultaneously. Furthermore, the magnetic field force

The Geometry Characteristics of Rock Mass of Multi-Fields Coupling Action

Key Engineering Materials, 2006
This paper introduces the method that determines rock bridge intensity based on rock discontinuity and connectivity ratio in the multi-fields coupling action. First, the method is used to study the smallest anti-shear way of rock mass in the microscopic discontinuity and integrated rock. Then the smallest anti-shear stress is computed in the way.

Multi-Field Coupled Analysis on Preparation Process of CZ Crystal

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
To consider the high energy consumption and the key components are easy to damage in CZ crystal furnace, in this paper, a multi-field coupled analysis on temperature and flow field has been carried out by using FEM software ANSYS, and the APDL language of ANSYS is used to implement the parametric model design for CZ crystal furnace.

Multi-field Coupling Strategies for Large Scale Particle-Fluid Problems

2011
This paper outlines a number of numerical techniques within a general combined Lattice Boltzmann-Discrete Element framework for the modeling of particle transport in incompressible fluid flows, with or without the presence of a thermal phase. The standard Lattice Boltzmann (LB) formulation for the simulation of incompressible fluid flows is reviewed ...

The vibration analysis for transformer winding based on multi-field coupling

2017 IEEE 2nd Advanced Information Technology, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IAEAC), 2017
Mathematical models for DC bias vibration analysis of the transformer winding are developed. The model is combined into multi-physical field coupling modeling for vibration analysis of the transformer. By applying the primary voltage as excitation and under different DC bias, vibration of the transformer winding is simulated and analyzed.

Supersonic flutter of laminated composite panel in coupled multi-fields

Aerospace Science and Technology, 2015
Abstract The flutter of a laminate composite panel subjected to aerodynamic, thermal, and acoustic load is investigated in the present study. The von-Karman large deflection plate theory is adopted to account for the geometrical nonlinearities. The third order piston theory is employed to estimate the aerodynamic pressure induced by the supersonic ...

Coupled Multi-Field Continuum Methods for Porous Media Fracture

2015
The focus of the present contribution is on the numerical modelling of hydraulic fracture in fluid-saturated heterogeneous materials, which can be carried out on a macroscopic scale using extended continuum porous media theories. This accounts for the crack nucleation and propagation, deformation of the solid matrix and change in the flow of the ...
