Fusion of multi-focus images with registration inaccuracies

Signal, Image and Video Processing, 2016
Image fusion combines complementary information for several input images. To obtain useful information from two misaligned images, registration is required. A hybrid textural registration-based multi-focus image fusion scheme is proposed. The Gabor filtering with specific frequency and orientation is used to extract different texture features from the ...

Nonparametric Multi-focus Analysis for Categorical Variables

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2004
Abstract In this work, we present a new nonparametric procedure which is useful for testing independence in distribution for categorical variables between two or more populations. The classically adopted solution is the χ2 test for the contingency table of observed frequencies; this solution is known to lack in power in case of cell with low expected ...

Fence Removal from Multi-focus Images

2010 20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2010
When an image of a scene is captured by a camera through a fence, a blurred fence image interrupts objects in the scene. In this paper, we propose a method for a fence removal from the image using multiple focusing. Most of previous methods interpolate the interrupted regions by using information of surrounding textures.

Salience Preserving Multi-Focus Image Fusion

Multimedia and Expo, 2007 IEEE International Conference on, 2007
This paper proposes a novel multi-focus image fusion algorithm. Different from traditional decision map based methods, our algorithm is based on salience preserving gradient, which can better emphasize the structure details of sources while preserving the color consistency.

Multi-focus ultrasound lens

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1998
The focal length of an acoustic ultrasound transducer is made variable by shaping the focusing element positioned over the transducer. The focusing means consists of a non-uniform focusing element whereby the transducer can be manipulated either electronically or mechanically to optimize the depth of focus for the area of interest.

Multi-Focus Image Fusion of Digital Images

2009 International Conference on Advances in Recent Technologies in Communication and Computing, 2009
Image fusion is the process by which two or more images are combined into a single image, retaining the important features from each of the original images. The goal of Image Fusion (IF) is to integrate complementary multi-sensor, multi-temporal and/or multi-view information into one new image, the quality of which cannot be achieved otherwise.

Multi-focus ultrasonic transducer

Ferroelectrics, 1983
Abstract An ultrasonic transducer concept is described where a plurality of different focal lengths, within a unitary structure, are the result of combining the one-dimensional focusing by individual zones of a piezoelectric spiral-shaped cylindrical surface with orthogonal focusing due to individual Fresnel zone electrode patterns.

Dense Multi-focus Fusion Net: A Deep Unsupervised Convolutional Network for Multi-focus Image Fusion

2019
In this paper, we introduce a novel unsupervised deep learning (DL) method for multi-focus image fusion. Existing multi-focus image fusion (MFIF) methods based on DL treat MFIF as a classification problem with a massive amount of reference images to train networks.

A novel framework for multi-focus image fusion

2013 Fourth National Conference on Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing and Graphics (NCVPRIPG), 2013
One of the foremost requisite for human perception and computer vision task is to get an image with all objects in focus. The image fusion process, as one of the solutions, allows getting a clear fused image from several images acquired with different focus levels of a scene.
