PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Parallel authentication and public-key encryption

open access: yes, 2003
A parallel authentication and public-key encryption is introduced and exemplified on joint encryption and signing which compares favorably with sequential Encrypt-then-Sign (ɛtS) or Sign-then-Encrypt (Stɛ) schemes as far as both efficiency and security ...

Secure Zonotopic Set-Membership State Estimation for Multi-Rate Complex Networks Under Encryption-Decryption Mechanism

open access: yes, 2023
In this paper, the zonotope-based distributed set-membership state estimation problem is considered for a class of nonlinear multi-rate complex networks (MRCNs) subjected to unknown-but-bounded (UBB) noises and eavesdropping attacks.

Multi-key Modified Tiny Encryption Algorithm for HealthCare

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2018
Healthcare data is crucial in patient’s surveillance. To give the finest treatment to patients the data should be of the best quality. Many security threats affect the integrity and ingenuity of the medical data. In the recent times, medical data can be accessed anytime and anywhere with the help of an overwhelming technology called the Internet of ...

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Obfuscating Re-encryption Algorithm With Flexible and Controllable Multi-Hop on Untrusted Outsourcing Server

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
An outsourcing re-encryption program can help a ciphertext owner (delegator) transform his/her ciphertext into another ciphertext of delegatee. For example, an e-mail receiver can re-transfer an encrypted e-mail to his secretary while allowing the e-mail

Secure Image Transmission Using Chaotic-Enhanced Elliptic Curve Cryptography

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, a novel scheme for secure and real time image transmission is introduced. The scheme uses a block-based elliptic curve (BBEC) public key encryption as a first stage of encryption so it solves the key distribution and management problem of ...

Public-Key Authenticated Encryption with Keyword Search Made Easy [PDF]

open access: yes
Public-key searchable encryption allows keyword-associated tokens to be used to test if a ciphertext contains specific keywords. Due to the low entropies of keywords, the token holder can create ciphertexts from candidate keywords and test them using
