Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Multi-Label Incremental Learning for State Prediction of Actuator Devices in Smart Homes

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society
The main aspects considered in smart homes (SHs) include activity classification, routine prediction, energy consumption reduction, and actuator-state prediction. SHs require highly responsive behavior whenever state changes are detected. In this context,

A Multi Label Algorithm for K Shortest Paths Problem

open access: yesCommunications, 2009
The paper presents an algorithm for computing k shortest walks or k shortest paths in a directed graph G (V, A). The proposed algorithm can be applied for solving the k shortest paths problem in an undirected graph G (V, E), too, by transforming the ...

Collaboration Based Multi-Label Learning

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2019
It is well-known that exploiting label correlations is crucially important to multi-label learning. Most of the existing approaches take label correlations as prior knowledge, which may not correctly characterize the real relationships among labels.

Evolving multi-label fuzzy classifier

open access: yesInformation Sciences, 2022
Multi-label classification has attracted much attention in the machine learning community to address the problem of assigning single samples to more than one class at the same time. We propose an evolving multi-label fuzzy classifier (EFC-ML) which is able to self-adapt and self-evolve its structure with new incoming multi-label samples in an ...
