Friction stir welding parameter optimization using novel multi objective dragonfly algorithm

open access: yesInternational Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture, 2021
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a type of welding in which the joint is made in the solid phase using the heat generated through friction. FSW is used to produce welds with superior strength with low distortion. At present, the FSW technique is enormously

Web-based Water Quality Parameter Monitoring for Packcoy Hydroponics using Multi Sensors

open access: yesJurnal Rekayasa Elektrika, 2022
The hydroponic planting method is one solution for supplying vegetable needs where agricultural land is limited. Hydroponics allows the growing of vegetables in stages in a limited area by utilizing water as a growing medium.

Design of mine-used multi-parameter gas flow sensor

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2014
In order to solve problem that traditional gas drainage monitoring system needs many sensors, cables and has inconvenient installation and maintenance because of too many monitored parameters, the paper designed a new kind of mine-used multi-parameter ...

BODYTUNE: Multi Auscultation Device – Personal Health Parameter Monitoring at Home

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2021
Auscultation methods allow the non-invasive diagnosis of pathological conditions (e.g., of the lung, heart or blood vessels) based on sounds that the body produces (e.g., breathing, heartbeat, swallowing or the blood flow).

Dual hollow sphere optical resonator for simultaneous detection of acoustic and magnetic fields

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
This study introduces a novel dual-parameter sensor for simultaneous acoustic and magnetic field detection. The sensor employs a dual-hollow-sphere-shaped optical microresonator coupled with a fiber taper and integrated with a Terfenol-D sheet ...

A multi-parameter calibration method for the numerical simulation of morphodynamic problems

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, 2017
Calibration of parameters of mathematical models is still a tough task in several engineering problems. Many of the models adopted for the numerical simulations of real phenomena, in fact, are of empirical derivation.

Financial Burden Associated With Hospitalisation Among Families of Childhood Brain Tumours in Australia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
