Essential boundary conditions and multi-point constraints in finite element analysis

Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2001
Elliptic problems with nonstandard boundary conditions are treated as variational problems with restrictions \[ \text{ minimize } \tfrac 12 x^T Sx-f^T x\quad \text{subject to } Cx=g. \] The saddle point equations \(Sx+C^T \lambda =f, ~Cx=g\) and their solvability are discussed from the algebraic viewpoint, i.e., \(g\in \text{Range}(C)\), \(\text{Ker ...

A new error evaluation for singularly perturbed problem with multi-point boundary condition

2020
Summary: We consider finite difference method to find best approximation of nonlinear singularly perturbed problem which contains multi-point boundary conditions. We surveyed the asymptotic estimates of the corresponding problem that needs to be solved with maximum principle. We constructed a finite difference scheme by using Bakhvalov mesh.

Fractional Differential Equations Involving Hadamard Fractional Derivatives with Nonlocal Multi-point Boundary Conditions

The interdisciplinary journal of Discontinuity, Nonlinearity, and Complexity, 2020
In this paper, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the Hadamard fractional boundary value problems with nonlocal multipoint boundary conditions. By using Leray-Schauder nonlinear alternative, Leray Schauder degree theory, Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem, Schaefer fixed point theorem, Banach fixed point theorem, Nonlinear ...

A class of differential equations of fractional order with multi-point boundary conditions

Georgian Mathematical Journal, 2014
Abstract We discuss the existence of solutions for a differential equation of fractional order with multi-point nonlocal boundary conditions via standard tools of fixed point theory. The paper concludes with some illustrative examples.

Spectral properties of -Laplacian problems with Neumann and mixed-type multi-point boundary conditions

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2011
The author first investigates the spectral problem of the \(p\)-Laplacian eigenvalue problem \[ -\phi_p(u')'(x)=\lambda\phi_p(u)(x ...

Self-adjointness of Higher-Order Differential Operators with Multi-point Boundary Conditions

Acta Analysis Functionalis Applicata, 2012
his paper discusses the self-adjointness of high-order differential operators with finite boundary conditions.Based on constructing a new Hilbert space associated with the problem, defining maximal and minimal operators related to conjunction property in finite boundary conditions given, obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions of adjointness of ...
