Image deblocking based on multi-scale edge representation
SPIE Proceedings, 2005We propose a deblocking algorithm using multi-scale edge representation of images. All block-based image/video coding methods suffer the annoying blocking artifacts at low bit rate. Blockings are considered as tiny edges occur at the borders of coding blocks in the directions of horizontal or vertical.

Smooth surfaces for multi-scale shape representation
1995The skin of a set of weighted points in ld is defined as a differentiable and orientable (d}- 1)-manifold surrounding the points. The skin varies continuously with the points and weights and at all times maintains the homotopy equivalence between the dual shape of the points and the body enclosed by the skin.

Rethinking Multi-Scale Representations in Deep Deraining Transformer
Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial IntelligenceExisting Transformer-based image deraining methods depend mostly on fixed single-input single-output U-Net architecture. In fact, this not only neglects the potentially explicit information from multiple image scales, but also lacks the capability of exploring the complementary implicit information across different scales.

Linear scale-space and related multi-scale representations
1994As pointed out in the introductory chapter, an inherent property of objects in the world and details in images is that they only exist as meaningful entities over certain ranges of scale. If one aims at describing the structure of unknown real-world signals, then a multi-scale representation of data is crucial.
