Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...

Sustainable Carbon Fibers Enable Stable Long‐Term Lithium Metal Deposition for Prospective Zero‐Excess Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents lightweight, lignin‐derived carbon fiber current collectors that enable controlled lithium deposition. Structural defects and intermediate‐sized pores stabilize pre‐nucleation quasi‐metallic lithium clusters, promoting uniform lithium plating and stripping.

Barcoding against a paradox? Combined molecular species delineations reveal multiple cryptic lineages in elusive meiofaunal sea slugs

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2012
Background Many marine meiofaunal species are reported to have wide distributions, which creates a paradox considering their hypothesized low dispersal abilities.

Integrating whole‐bone and regional analyses to understand human scapular growth

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates ontogenetic changes in human scapular morphology using three‐dimensional geometric morphometrics with whole‐bone and region‐specific analyses. The aim is to evaluate whether the scapula follows a regular developmental pattern and whether its functionally distinct components, the scapular spine (SS) and glenoid fossa ...

Widespread discordance of gene trees with species tree in Drosophila: evidence for incomplete lineage sorting.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2006
The phylogenetic relationship of the now fully sequenced species Drosophila erecta and D. yakuba with respect to the D. melanogaster species complex has been a subject of controversy.

Sustaining the teaching profession: Innovating the ‘golden thread’ in university‐led teacher education

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper examines the implications of England's ‘golden thread’ policy framework for teacher education, which describes a state‐mandated, linear model of professional learning from initial teacher training and education through to continuing professional development.

Research progress and current status of dynamic wave propagation characteristics in rock mass: A review

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This review elucidates the velocity–dispersion–attenuation coupling mechanisms of wave propagation in rock masses, compares six representative models, and reveals how pressure, temperature, mineral composition, and anisotropy jointly control dynamic responses in complex geological media.
