Reaction decoupling in thermochemical fuel conversion and technical progress based on decoupling using fluidized bed

open access: yesCarbon Resources Conversion, 2018
Thermochemical conversion of fuels via pyrolysis/carbonization, cracking, gasification and combustion has to involve a number of individual reactions called attribution reactions to form an intercorrelated reaction network for any conversion process.

Generation of macroscopic quantum-superposition states by linear coupling to a bath

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate through an exactly solvable model that collective coupling to any thermal bath induces effectively nonlinear couplings in a quantum many-body (multi-spin) system.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Secret Sharing with a Single d-level Quantum System

open access: yes, 2015
We give an example of a wide class of problems for which quantum information protocols based on multi-system entanglement can be mapped into much simpler ones involving one system. Secret sharing is a cryptographic primitive which plays a central role in

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Optimal Preventive Maintenance Scheduling of Multi State System. A Comparative Study of Different Meta-heuristic Algorithms

open access: yesAlgerian Journal of Signals and Systems
This work presents a comparative study of different meta-heuristic algorithms which are commonly used in the literature, such as Genetic Algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization, Artificial Bee Colony and Grey Wolf Optimizer. These algorithms are applied

Chaos control and chaos synchronization of a multi-wing chaotic system and its application in multi-frequency weak signal detection

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
In this paper, first, a nonlinear feedback controller for achieving chaos control of a novel multi-wing chaotic system is presented. The nonlinear feedback controller has two parts.

Fuzzy Availability Assessment for Discrete Time Multi-State System under Minor Failures and Repairs by Using Fuzzy Lz -transform

open access: yes, 2017
This paper studies assessment approach of dynamic fuzzy availability for a discrete time multi-state system under minor failures and repairs. Traditionally, it was assumed that the exact reliability data of a component/system with discrete time are given

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Characteristics of optical multi-peak solitons induced by higher-order effects in an erbium-doped fiber system

open access: yes, 2016
We study multi-peak solitons \textit{on a plane-wave background} in an erbium-doped fiber system with some higher-order effects, which is governed by a coupled Hirota and Maxwel-Bloch (H-MB) model.
