Cost Adaptation for Robust Decentralized Swarm Behaviour
Decentralized receding horizon control (D-RHC) provides a mechanism for coordination in multi-agent settings without a centralized command center. However, combining a set of different goals, costs, and constraints to form an efficient optimization ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A Novel Multi-Swarm Approach for Numeric Optimization [PDF]
In order to solve the numeric optimization problems, swarm-based meta-heuristic algorithms can be used as an alternative to solve optimization problems. Meta-heuristic algorithms do not guarantee finding the optimal solution but they produce acceptable solutions in a reasonable computation time.
