Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Mapping CSP into Many-Valued SAT

open access: yes, 2008
We first define a mapping from CSP to many-valued SAT which allows to solve CSP instances with many-valued SAT solvers. Second, we define a new many-valued resolution rule and prove that it is refutation complete for many-valued CNF formulas, and ...

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Tone mapping infrared images using conditional filtering based multi-scale retinex

open access: yes, 2015
Tone mapping can be used to compress the dynamic range of the image data such that it can be fitted within the range of the reproduction media and human vision.

Corrective evaluation of multi-valued complex functions for anisotropic elasticity

open access: yes, 2017
It is well known that the Stroh formalism is an elegant and powerful complex variable method for anisotropic elasticity. Through this formalism, several analytical solutions for the problems of anisotropic elasticity have been presented in the literature.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

A splitting type algorithm for multi-valued complementarity problems

open access: yes, 2020
We consider a generalized complementarity problem whose cost mapping is multi-valued and is the sum of upper Z and antitone mappings. We suggest a simple splitting type algorithm which utilizes an extended Jacobi iteration.

Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Adult Learning in STEM Disciplines

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) are reshaping adult learning in STEM by providing adaptive, data‐driven instruction across classrooms, workplaces, and informal environments. In the context of ITS, this article compares generative AI, which creates personalized explanations and practice materials, with explainable AI, which focuses on ...

Fixed point theorems for single and multi-valued mappings

open access: yes, 1973
The purpose of this thesis is to set forth some fixed point theorems in metric and Banach spaces for single-valued and multi-valued mappings of a contractive type.
