Multi-wavelength Laser Photoacoustics
2012Abstract : An optical detection method designed to detect and identify the presence of macro-molecular gas species (e.g., organophosphate-based nerve agent simulants) at trace level concentrations is presented. The technique is based on a modified version of conventional laser photoacoustic spectroscopy (LPAS) in which optical absorption is typically ...

Multi-Wavelength Optical Networks
2002This chapter is intended as an introduction to optical networking. Firstly, we analyze the functionality of each of the nodes comprising an all-optical network. The evolution path from present WDM networks towards optical cross-connected networks is also discussed.

Fast fiber-optic multi-wavelength pyrometer
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2011A fast fiber-optic multi-wavelength pyrometer was developed for the ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectra from 200 nm to 1700 nm using a CCD detector and an InGaAs detector. The pyrometer system conveniently and quickly provides the sufficient choices of multiple measurement wavelengths using optical diffraction, which avoids the use of narrow-band

Multi-wavelength switchable fiber laser
2012 IEEE 27th Convention of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Israel, 2012We demonstrate a switchable multi-wavelength ring fiber laser based on cavity-resonance-activation. It is obtained by addressing the suitable mode-locking frequency of a multi-length laser cavity formed by successive fiber Bragg grating mirrors with different reflecting wavelengths.

Multi-wavelength Solc birefringent filter
SPIE Proceedings, 2008There are presented first testing data and a design of a special Solc birefringent chain narrow-bandpass filter that allows an astronomical observation of the Sun in wide number of interesting spectral lines (Hα, CaIIK, Hβ, Hγ, D1, D3, etc.). It is described an idea of tuning of sub-filters that the filter is compound of.

Multi-Wavelength Luminosity Functions of Galaxies
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2003Multivariate or multi‐wavelength luminosity functions will reveal the interplay between star formation, chemical evolution, and absorption and re‐emission of dust within evolving galaxy populations. By using principal component analysis to reduce the dimensionality of the problem, I optimally extract the relevant photometric information from large ...
