A novel model for low-cycle multiaxial fatigue life prediction based on the critical plane-damage parameter. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Prog, 2020
Multiaxial fatigue of the components is a very complex behavior. This analyzes the multiaxial fatigue failure mechanism, reviews and compares the advantages and disadvantages of the classic model.

Cracking directions in multiaxial low cycle fatigue at high and room temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2017
Cracking direction in multiaxial low cycle fatigue is an important research subject because crack initiation and propagation behavior is a physical background for developing an estimation method of multiaxial low cycle fatigue lives. However, there are a

Investigation into Multiaxial Character of Thermomechanical Fatigue Damage on High-Speed Railway Brake Disc

open access: yesVehicles, 2021
The multiaxial character of high-speed railway brake disc thermomechanical fatigue damage is studied in this work. Although the amplitudes and distributions of temperature, strain and stress are similar with uniform and rotating loading methods, the ...

Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior and Failure Mechanism of Nickel-Based Alloy GH4169 under Biaxial Load Based on Fatigue Test of Cruciform Specimen

open access: yesMetals, 2023
Due to the complex geometry and various cyclic loads, aeroengine components are often in a multiaxial complex stress state during service. Multiaxial fatigue is a major cause of many air accidents. It is of great significance to study the fatigue failure

Taking into account the non-proportional loading effect on high cycle fatigue life predictions obtained by invariant-based approaches [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Industrial structures are often subjected to multiaxial fatigue loadings. If the multiple stress signals are not synced the loading is said to be non-proportional.

A damage-based method to predict crack initiation lifetime of high-strength steel under proportional bending-torsional loadings

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
The fatigue life of specimen consists of crack initiation and crack propagation life. As the fracture toughness of high strength steel is low, the specimen will fail soon once crack appears.

Multiaxial fatigue behaviour of A356‐T6 [PDF]

open access: yesFatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 2012
ABSTRACTAluminum alloy A356‐T6 was subjected to fully reversed cyclic loading under tension, torsion and combined loading. Results indicate that endurance limits are governed by maximum principal stress. Fractography demonstrates long shear mode III propagation with multiple initiation sites under torsion.
