Spectroscopy and multiband photometry of the afterglow of intermediate duration γ-ray burst GRB 040924 and its host galaxy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Aims. We present optical photometry and spectroscopy of the afterglow and host galaxy of gamma-ray burst GRB040924. This GRB had a rather short duration of T90 ∼ 2.4 s, and a well sampled optical afterglow light curve.

Reflective and Transmissive Linear Polarization Rotators: A Review

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
This article provides a comprehensive literature review of design principles and topologies for both reflective and transmissive polarization rotators. It begins with an overview of polarization rotators and their applications, setting the stage for an ...

Atomically Modulating Competing Exchange Interactions in Centrosymmetric Skyrmion Hosts GdRu2X2 (X = Si and Ge)

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Our work bridges the gap between skyrmion discovery and material design by demonstrating how atomic‐scale control of exchange interactions enables tunable skyrmion phase transitions in centrosymmetric magnetic metals. ABSTRACT Magnetic skyrmions are topologically protected spin states that hold promise for shaping the future of electronics.

A Rotation-Controlled Anisotropic Hourglass Metasurface for Multiband Reflective Linear-to-Circular and Cross- Polarization Conversion

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents and experimentally validates a multifunctional anisotropic metasurface (MS) that exhibits linear-to-linear (LTL) reflective cross-polarization (RCP) and circular polarization conversion (CPC) responses across multiple frequency ranges.

Multiband and wideband characteristics of grid array antenna

open access: yes, 2023
An inexpensive and non-complex technique for achieving multiband and wide bandwidth on Grid Array Antenna (GAA) is presented in this work. By cutting a square slot on the ground plane of a conventional GAA at a determined distance from the center of the ...

Diffusion MRI and α‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Status in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Positive α‐synuclein seed amplification assay (SAA) is a biomarker found in most people with Parkinson's disease (PD). We explored if free‐water (FW) imaging detects microstructural differences in the brains of patients with early PD with SAA+ or SAA– status.

Multiband charge density wave exposed in a transition metal dichalcogenide

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
While multiband superconductivity is the subject of extensive studies, the possibility of multiband charge density waves (CDW) remains elusive. Here, the authors report evidence of gap opening on both inner and outer bands by a CDW state in 2H-NbSe2 ...

Frequency‐ and Network‐Specific Changes in Functional Connectivity Reflect Pathophysiological Mechanisms across Parkinson's Disease Stages

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Parkinson's disease (PD) is increasingly conceptualized as a disorder of large‐scale brain networks, yet whether and how frequency‐specific functional connectivity reorganizes across stages remains poorly understood. In this study, we used high‐density electroencephalography (EEG) to characterize cortico‐cortical functional connectivity ...

Green's functions of multiband non-Hermitian systems

open access: yes, 2023
Green's functions of non-Hermitian systems play a fundamental role in various dynamical processes. Because non-Hermitian systems are sensitive to boundary conditions due to the non-Hermitian skin effect, open-boundary Green's functions are closely ...
