Multicarrier airborne ultrasound transmission with piezoelectric transducers

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, 2015
In decentralized localization systems, the received signal has to be assigned to the sender. Therefore, longrange airborne ultrasound communication enables the transmission of an identifier of the sender within the ultrasound signal to the receiver.

An efficient technique for merging transmissions in a multicarrier context

2011 Third International Workshop on Cross Layer Design, 2011
A well-known allocation technique, called bit-loading, results in the creation of tone maps which define, for each subcarrier on a particular transmission path, the appropriate constellation that has to be applied based on a link quality criterion. If this technique allows to efficiently optimize point-to-point transmissions in the network, it poses ...

Suppression of multiple interferences for superposed multicarrier transmission

2015 IEEE 26th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2015
Superposed multicarrier transmission is proposed as one of the schemes that improve frequency utilization efficiency. In this scheme some wireless systems share the same spectrum, and interference suppression is necessary. One conventional scheme for the interference suppression applies the EM (Expectation Maximization) algorithm for the estimation of ...

A multicarrier transmission scheme for wireless local communications

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1996
This paper presents a novel multitone transmission scheme that employs a nonlinear binary code to specify multitone signal constellations. The scheme, which can be viewed as a generalization of M-ary frequency shift keying, is amenable to noncoherent demodulation, and it is therefore useful for communication over fading channels.

Multicarrier transmission schemes in cognitive radio

2012 International Symposium on Signals, Systems, and Electronics (ISSSE), 2012
With the proliferation of radio services in the past decades, most of the spectrum available below 2GHz has been allocated, resulting in the spectrum scarcity problem. However, many studies have revealed that vast portions of the licensed spectra are rarely used.

Hermite wavelets for multicarrier data transmission

1993 IEEE South African Symposium on Communications and Signal Processing, 2002
The performance of Hermite wavelets as carriers in a digital subscriber loop (DSL) system is evaluated by means of a computer simulation model. The transmission medium, various types of interference and a nearly complete implementation of the transmitter and receiver functions are modelled and simulated.

Analysis of multicarrier transmission in time-varying channels

Proceedings of ICC'97 - International Conference on Communications, 2002
Transceiver design is dependent on the a priori information available about the communication environment. We consider two cases: channel completely known at the receiver and transmitter (via feedback); and only channel statistics are known at the transmitter and the channel is known at the receiver.

CQI Feedback Overhead Reduction for Multicarrier MIMO Transmission

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2008
For wideband MIMO-OFDM systems, scheduling and link adaptation are key techniques to improve the throughput performance. However, in systems without reciprocity between the uplink and the downlink channels, these techniques require a high feedback overhead of the channel quality indication (CQI) information.

An Efficient Transmission Strategy for the Multicarrier Multiuser MIMO Downlink

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2014
A new transmission strategy that consists of a spatial scheduling algorithm and two precoding algorithms is developed for multicarrier multiuser (MU) multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The scheduling algorithm, which is called efficient multicarrier ProSched (EMC-ProSched), adopts a novel and effective scheduling metric for each user and ...
