Multicast Session Management and QoS Management for Multicast Group Communications
2008 International Conference on Information Networking, 2008Conventional multicast group communications need a dynamic mechanism for group management according to the join/leave of receivers and for the modification of membership information and a QoS management for a reliable multicast group communication.

Buffer-aided relaying approaches for multicast communications
2016 International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2016This paper proposes and compares different policies to perform the optimal link selection in the presence of buffer-aided relay for multicast communications. These policies are based on the knowledge of the instantaneous link quality indicators as well as the status of the relay buffer, and dynamically select the more suited link according to a ...

Pricing Multicast Communication: A Cost-Based Approach
Telecommunication Systems, 2001Multicast and unicast traffic share and compete for network resources. To facilitate efficient and equitable resource allocation between traffic types, this paper advocates a costbased approach to multicast pricing. When prices are set to reflect actual network resource consumption, market distortion is minimized.

Hierarchies of keys in secure multicast communications
Journal of Computer Security, 2010This work considers key management for secure multicast in the Logical Key Hierarchy (LKH) model and proposes a methodology to establish the minimal key bit length that guarantees a specified degree of confidentiality for the multicast communications managed within this model.

QoS negotiation for multicast communications
1994This paper deals with the Quality of Service (QoS) negotiation for multicast connections. First, we show that in the multicast case, the QoS parameters may be separated into two classes, namely the parameters whose scope is the whole multicast connection and those whose scope is limited to each receiver separately.

Securing hierarchical multicast communications using roles
Proceedings of the 2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing: Connecting the World Wirelessly, 2009In multicast communications, where service providers distribute services such as streaming multimedia, distributed databases, and etc., an important issue is to control the access to both the transmitted data and the network resources. This issue becomes more complicated when the multicast communication takes place in a hierarchical organizational ...

Two protocols for multicast communication
2001Summary: Multicasting is a fundamental communication paradigm in which the communication takes place over a network between a single sending node and multiple receivers. It is used in applications such as video-conferencing, distance learning, and transmission of corporate data and stock market trends.
