Orbital Angular Momentum Holography Using Neural Network and Camera in the Loop

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 19, Issue 19, October 7, 2025.
Neural network and optimization‐based approaches are introduced for Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) multiplexed holography, enabling high‐capacity, phase‐only image reconstruction. A Camera‐In‐The‐Loop (CITL) system learns a realistic propagation model to correct system imperfections.

High‐Isolation LCoS‐Based Optical Switch with Phase Hologram Parameter Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
A 1 × 9 liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS)‐based optical switch is experimentally demonstrated, revealing that the worst‐case port isolation exceeds 37 dB within the wavelength range of 1460–1540 nm. This work offers an alternative route for the development of optical switches with a large number of ports and high isolation, applicable to large‐capacity ...

On the Usability of Reactive Programming APIs: A Mixed Evaluation

open access: yesSoftware: Practice and Experience, Volume 55, Issue 9, Page 1506-1538, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Context Reactive Programming (RP) provides powerful abstractions for managing asynchronous and event‐driven behaviors, but its APIs are often perceived as complex and difficult to use, particularly due to their reliance on functional programming concepts. Objective This study investigates the usability of two prominent JavaScript RP libraries,

Optical Wireless Communications with Metasurfaces: Current Status and Potential for Intelligent Communications

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2025.
Optical wireless communications (OWCs) provide a promising alternative to spectrum‐congested microwave wireless communications. Recently, the use of metasurfaces with sub‐wavelength features for dynamic beam steering, beam manipulation, and spatial or optical‐angular‐momentum mode generation, conversion, and multiplexing in OWCs is proposed and ...
