Reversible Assembly and Disassembly of σ‐Aromatic B3 Rings
B3 rings are the smallest σ‐aromatic boron compounds. Here, we show for the first time that cationic diboranes with an electron‐precise (2c,2e) bond can be reversibly converted to σ‐aromatic B3 rings with electron‐deficient (3c,2e) bonding. Base‐induced disassembly of the B3 ring leads back to cationic diboranes and monoborane adducts.
