Performance of some estimators for the multicollinear logistic regression model: theory, simulation, and applications

open access: yesResearch in Statistics
This article proposes some new estimators, namely Stein’s estimators for ridge regression and Kibria and Lukman estimator and compares their performance with some existing estimators, namely maximum likelihood estimator (MLE), ridge regression estimator,

Promoting Healthier Drinking: Evidence From a Vignette Experiment on Contextual and Informational Drivers of Dealcoholized Wine Choices

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Growing demand for healthier beverages is driving innovation in the wine sector, with dealcoholized wine emerging as a promising alternative. However, little is known about the contextual conditions under which consumers would choose dealcoholized wine, particularly in countries with strong wine traditions. To fill this gap, this work examines

Detecting and Assessing the Problems Caused by Multi-Collinearity: A Useof the Singular-Value Decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents a means for detecting the presence of multicollinearity and for assessing the damage that such collinearity may cause estimated coefficients in the standard linear regression model.

Morbidity Among the Aging Population in Northern Bangladesh: An Epidemiological Study

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Multimorbidity (≥ 2 chronic diseases) is common among aging populations, yet evidence from Bangladesh remains limited. A cross‐sectional survey of 540 older adults in Northern Bangladesh (June–August 2022) assessed multimorbidity using interviews and logistic regression analysis. Multimorbidity prevalence was 75.74% (95% CI: 71.9%–79.3%).

A comparative study between LSSVM, LSTM, and ANN in predicting the unconfined compressive strength of virgin fine-grained soil

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment
The present investigation introduces a robust soft computing model by comparing twelve least square support vector machine (LSSVM), six long short-term memory (LSTM), and thirty-six artificial neural network (ANN) models to predict the unconfined ...

Determinants of local food producer participation in state‐sponsored marketing programs: Evidence from Missouri

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines producer participation choices considering a variety of potential benefits linked to state‐sponsored marketing programs, using a real choice dataset of farmers in Missouri. Multinomial logit models are employed to predict determinants of farmer enrollment in three tiers of the Missouri Grown local food marketing program ...

Multicollinearity and regression analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In regression analysis it is obvious to have a correlation between the response and predictor(s), but having correlation among predictors is something undesired.

The Relationship Between Interest Rates and Agricultural Commodity Price Dynamics

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The U.S. Federal Reserve has undertaken several interest rate interventions in the past decade. This study explores the relationship between U.S. corn and soybean prices and Federal Reserve monetary policy interventions, in the short and long run.
