Missed Opportunities for Fall Prevention: Primary Care Follow‐Up After Emergency Department Discharge in Older Adults

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
In this retrospective chart review of 168 adults aged 65 and older who were discharged home from 9 emergency departments (EDs) after a fall and attended at least one primary care (PCP) visit within 90 days, we characterized the fall risk assessments and interventions documented during those follow‐up visits.

Nanoprecipitate characterisation in NiTi and aluminium alloys: A TEM‐based overview

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Nanoscale precipitates are central to the functional and mechanical performance of many advanced alloys, yet their characteristics and spatial distributions can be directly resolved only by electron microscopy. In this poster‐style article, focused ion beam‐prepared TEM lamellae are used to provide a microscopy‐focused overview of ...

Rediscovering Sodium Ionophores as Selective Agents for Lithium Recognition and Extraction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 32, 3 August 2026.
Long‐classified sodium ionophores unexpectedly prefer lithium and act as efficient extractants in solid–liquid extraction (SLE). Readily prepared from catechol and haloacetamides, these hosts recover hydrated LiCl from multicomponent salt mixtures via a hydration‐assisted O···Li+ binding mode, enabling scalable lithium separation with Li/Na, Li/K, and ...

Clinical characteristics and risk factors associated with consultation‐confirmed delirium in hospitalized patients

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences Reports, Volume 5, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Aim Delirium, a serious neuropsychiatric hospitalization complication, is a manifestation of underlying neurocognitive vulnerability rather than an acute event. In Japan, a nationwide medical policy mandates early hospital‐wide delirium risk screening to evaluate predefined risk factors in inpatient populations.

The 2026 World Delirium Awareness Day Survey: Findings From Turkish Intensive Care Units

open access: yesNursing in Critical Care, Volume 31, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Delirium is a common and serious complication in intensive care units (ICUs) and is associated with adverse patient outcomes. World Delirium Awareness Day (WDAD), observed annually on the second Wednesday of March, provides a platform for international point prevalence studies to evaluate delirium burden and care practices across ...
